How does Virtuozzo compare to OpenVZ

Generally speaking, Virtuozzo isn't all that different from OpenVZ, and clients are welcome to install OpenVZ or any other virtualization software on their servers themselves. The primary differences between OpenVZ and Virtuozzo are:


  • OpenVZ has no official support (whereas Parallels Gold priority support is available for Virtuozzo servers)
  • OpenVZ has no web-based panel (Virtuozzo has the Power Panel for users and PIM for Administrators)
  • Development for OpenVZ generally lags a bit behind Virtuozzo (although not too significantly)
