How to Bind Additional IP's to Windows 2003/2008 Server

  1. Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Routing and Remote Access
  2. Right-click item underneath "Server Status" in left pane. (Often this is called "something (local)") Choose "Configure and Enable Routing and Remote Access."
  3. A configuration box pops up. Hit Next to start the configuration.
  4. Choose "Custom Configuration." Hit Next.
  5. Select only "LAN routing." Hit Next.
  6. Hit Finish. This will close the box and ask if you want to start the service. Choose No.
  7. In a few seconds, there will be subitems below the server name in the left pane. Expand IP Routing, and choose General.
  8. Right-click on Local Area Connection in the right pane. Choose Properties.
  9. Switch to the Configuration Tab, and click Advanced.
  10. In the IP addresses section on top, click Add. Add the IPs that you were assigned individually, using a subnet mask of 255.255.255.255. Then click OK. Repeat this step for each IP you are adding.
  11. Click OK, returning to the Local Area Connection Properties Window. Click Apply here. It will ask if you want to continue. Choose OK, and then hit OK.
  12. Close the Routing and Remote Access window.
