Modifying the Reverse DNS Configuration of an IP
From Ubiquity Server Wiki
Control over Reverse DNS PTR records are available directly to all Ubiquity dedicated server, colocation, and VPS clients. Configuring this information is very simple.
- Login to https://cp.ubiquityservers.com (same login information as https://my.ubiquityhosting.com)
- Click on the rDNS link located directly under your systems "Primary IP Range"
- Type in a hostname PTR record next to the IP you would like to modify
- Click Update rDNS to save
DISCLAIMER: Direct rDNS control is available for your convenience and monitored daily by our network admins. Abuse of this feature with profanity or anything else blatantly inappropriate may lead to a disconnection of service.
Direct Reverse DNS Delegation:
Direct Reverse DNS authority via private mapping servers cannot be delegated for blocks smaller then a /24. Reverse DNS on smaller blocks may still be done through the Ubiquity control panel. If you meet this criteria and would like to run your own private reverse DNS mapping servers - please contact our support center with which /24 or larger provision to adjust, as well as the location of a primary and secondary mapping server.
