Using Remote Desktop to Manage Your Server

Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) is the standard method for managing a Windows server. To connect to Remote Desktop, follow the following process for Windows XP and Windows Vista users:


  • Navigate to Start > Program Files > Accessories > Communications > Remote Desktop Connection
  • Enter the base IP Address of your server along with the default RDP port (3389)
  • Click Connect
